I’ve had the Garmin Fenix 3 HR Sapphire watch for a year and a half now and it’s awesome. I use it track all of my hikes. It’s really helpful for navigation too. They describe it best saying, “Inspired by the natural beauty of Canada’s great outdoors, we create wearable art with forests and landscapes inside.” I LOVE my Autumn River ring. It’s made from wood and resin. It’s so dang pretty and unique, don’t you think! I also love love love that they’re local Vancouver artists! Check out more pics of my ring here.

SALE: They’re having a 50% off sale right now. If you miss that, you can still get 15% off by using my discount code THANKS_HIKES

6. Arcteryx Zeta LT Rainjacket

New photo by Hikes Near Vancouver BC / Google Photos

I’ve had this jacket for one year now and while expensive, it’s been worth every penny. Goretex is the only material, in my opinion, that makes a jacket truly waterproof. This jacket has kept me completely dry and happy on countless hikes, including those full of torrential rain. It’s one of my essential items for outdoor safety that I take with me on every single hike, no matter the conditions.

SALE: Arcteryx stuff rarely goes on sale, and often it’s an in-store, so check your local retailer like Valhalla Pure. I do see the men’s on sale for 20% off – $440 down from $550 at Altitude Sports online here

7. VESSI Cityscape Shoes

New photo by Hikes Near Vancouver BC / Google Photos

I’ve only had my Cityscape shoes for a few days but I’ve been loving them. I’ve worn them all day, every day since I got them. They are super comfortable and perfect for us here in Raincouver. The first of its kind, this knit running shoe style walking shoe is totally waterproof. Yep, waterPROOF. You can immerse it into a deep puddle and won’t get even a titch wet. Walk around in the rain and watch the droplets bead off. They’re amazing. Vessi is a Vancouver company that is huge right now. This shoe has been an enormous hit on Kickstarter.

SALE: The Cityscape shoes are $99 (down from $135) with free shipping for Black Friday. Buying outside of the sale? Get 10% off with code HIKES10 at https://vessifootwear.ca/discount/HIKES10

8. Tree Tribe Leggings & Beanie

I just love Anja’s work. Her illustrations of local nature scenes are so pretty. She sells digital art prints of so many different parks and cities and other sites in our region, as well as postcards of them. She’s a local Vancouverite working out of a studio in Kitsilano so you can save on shipping by picking up your items!
