Gear Review: Vessi Cityscape Shoes

on

I LOVE my Vessi Cityscape shoes. They’re an essential addition to the wardrobe of a Vancouverite especially.

It’s commonly known that in Vancouver you should never leave home without sunglasses and an umbrella. The weather changes on a dime so you can never know what to expect, except that it will likely involve some amount of rain. Enter the Cityscape shoe – the world’s first knit waterproof shoe. Yep, you read that right. WaterPROOF. It’s a cozy, casual running shoe style walking shoe that keeps your feet 100% dry from the wet elements. Rain, puddles, snow, hail…they’ve got you covered. Oh and did I mention they’re vegan? YEAH!

I have the Cityscape in midnight black, but they come in four different colours: black, green, white and grey. Additionally, there are two other styles – the Skyline Collection (without laces) and the Everyday Collection (solid colour, sole and all) that come in a couple additional colours (pink and blue).

The Cityscape is an incredibly comfortable everyday walking shoe. They keep your feet toasty and warm against rain and even snow. Note they are not designed for running or doing any sort of technical sports in where you need special grip and support like hiking or trail running. I wear them often for casual days around the city, in the gym, cycling and on my paddleboard. A lot of my friends who have them rave about them being perfect for walking the dog down at the beach or through the wet, dewy grass in parks.

The fit is super spot-on so size up if you’re at all between sizes. The design is to fit snug like a water shoe, so also size up if you want it a little looser.
